Refund policy

Returns & Refunds

If you need to return a painting, you must contact me at megan@hexagonstudios.ca with your return request within 7 days of delivery (commissioned pieces are excluded and will not be refunded). Returns are sent back to my studio in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.

Buyers are responsible for all shipping charges associated with returns. 

Note that return shipping will be more expensive than what you paid at checkout, which was a flat rate. Insurance for the full cost of the work is included gratis in that flat rate. Returned work must be packed and insured the same way it was sent, entirely at the cost of the client, which will therefore amount to more than what was paid to receive the package(s).

Refunds will be issued through the same payment method as the initial purchase within 4 business days of the painting's receipt back at the studio. Once the refund is initiated, processing time depends on the bank or issuing authority. 

In order to receive a full refund for the cost of the work, the artwork must arrive back at the studio in new, unused, undamaged condition and packaged carefully, preferably using the original packaging material. If returned artwork is received in a condition other than new, the refund amount will be adjusted to reflect the condition by a minimum of 15% of the cost of the item.

Commissioned paintings are not eligible for refunds or exchanges.

Artwork may be returned or exchanged in person at the studio by appointment, if desired.

Payment Plans
There is no added charge for purchasing in installments. Starting with a deposit of 25% on the final amount (including taxes and any applicable shipping fees), we will determine a comfortable payment schedule. The painting will remain in the studio until payment is complete. Should you choose to cancel the purchase before completing payment, I will refund your money minus a fee of 10% of the amount paid up to that point. This helps to cover administration and transaction fees.

Shipping Damage


If the artwork is damaged during shipping, please keep the packaging and email me immediately upon receipt (within 48 hours), including digital images of the damage. This allows me to submit the insurance claim.
