Shipping policy
Local Pick-up
Artwork can be picked up by appointment in Peterborough, Ontario, free of charge. Enter the code COLLECTPTBO at checkout to remove shipping fees. I will contact you as soon as possible by email after your purchase is complete in order to arrange pickup. It takes a day or two to package up the artwork for you.
Local Delivery
Delivery in the Peterborough area (free with checkout code COLLECTPTBO) and the GTA ($30) can be arranged for artwork sized 40 x 48" and smaller. Please contact me by email if you are interested in delivery to make a delivery appointment.
Other delivery options/locations may be available at extra cost, by request. Paintings larger than 40 x 48" will incur additional costs as they require a delivery van rental. Please contact me for a quote on delivery fees for large paintings.
Shipping Fees
& Processing
Artwork is typically shipped through FedEx or Canada Post, unless otherwise requested in writing by the client during the ordering process. Normally, work will be shipped within 3 business days after payment has been received. Any processing delays will be communicated to the customer.
Shipping costs, including duties or customs charges, are included in the flat shipping rate charged to the buyer. Oversize work will be charged differently. Clients interested in work larger than 40 inches on any side must contact me first so that I may provide a quote for shipping in a crate. These charges will be higher than the flat rates. I will make every effort to work with the client for the best and safest solution.
Once the item has shipped out, any delays during shipping are out of my control and subject to the carrier's terms.
Every effort is made to ensure the safety of the artwork, since they are original and one-of-a-kind pieces. Insurance and signature on delivery are required and included in the flat shipping rates. Tracking information will be provided to the customer. Please get in touch with me if you have questions about alternate courier services and delivery options.
International Shipping
Shipping outside of Canada is currently unavailable when purchasing directly through this website. For international customers, you're welcome to email me requesting a shipping quote. I'm happy to work with you!
Alternatively, the purchase may be completed through my profile on Saatchi Art Online. Artwork purchased through Saatchi is shipped directly from my studio, the same as purchases completed through my web shop. Saatchi takes a standard commission from my sale earnings for the convenience of handling the sale on my behalf. Prices for my work on Saatchi are the same as the prices reflected on my website but are displayed in the customer's local currency. The Saatchi Art Online policies apply to all transactions conducted on their website (costs with applicable taxes, shipping including duties and any other related charges, and returns). If one of my available works is not yet listed on my Saatchi profile and you would like to purchase it, please get in touch with me.
Please note that it may take some additional time for your painting to arrive, depending on your location.
Multiple Packages
Orders containing multiple items are usually packaged separately for the protection of the artwork. Friction between two pieces of artwork and/or their packaging caused by movement during shipping can inflict irreparable damage. Rare exceptions involve the shipment of small works that can be secured separately within the packaging. An individual tracking number will be provided for each package.
Large & High-Value Artworks
Some couriers have limits on the size and nature of what they will carry. Many large items have to be packaged in a crate to ensure their safety in transit. Crates result in added costs and will need to be quoted individually, which are noted in the product listings. Please email me before purchasing to begin this discussion. If you complete the purchase online in advance, then the shipping costs will be billed to you separately. Processing may take longer than 4 business days because crates are custom-built and require individual freighting arrangements.
Shipping Damage
If the artwork is damaged during shipping, please keep the packaging and email me immediately upon receipt (within 48 hours), including digital images of the damage. This allows me to submit the insurance claim.
Returns & Refunds
If you need to return a painting, you must contact me at megan@hexagonstudios.ca with your return request within 14 days of delivery (commissioned pieces are excluded and will not be refunded). See the Refund Policy for details.
